David Dejulius Announces Charitable Action Ahead of 2022-23 Season

NCAA athletes can profit off team-licensed jersey sales now, and David Dejulius is using it to support a good cause.

The graduate guard announced on Tuesday that he is donating all money he earns from his jersey sales to support book purchases for inner-city kids in Detroit, Michigan, and Cincinnati.

"Coming from the inner city of Detroit, I see firsthand a lot of people won't have the proper guidance and environment in place that has such a gravitational pull," Dejulius said to the media. "I feel like books are a good place to provide discipline and build a hunger of knowledge. I think knowledge is the first step in becoming a well-rounded person."

The Bearcats' lead returning scorer came into his own last season after transferring from Michigan early in his career. He posted 14.5 points per game last season to go with 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

The preseason All-AAC guard is a major part of this team's vision in 2022-23 and he plans to use that production for good.

"I just want people to know if you're buying my jersey this year, it'll be more than just buying the jersey of a player you like," Dejulius said. "It's going to something bigger than myself and I appreciate everyone who takes the opportunity to buy my jersey and wear it."
