The Duke Blue Devils earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament after notching a 31-3 record and an ACC Tournament championship victory.
In the Blue Devils ACC Tournament quarterfinal win over Georgia Tech, superstar freshman Cooper Flagg suffered a left ankle sprain. The National Player of the Year candidate hasn't played since, leaving his injury status for the Round of 64 in uncertainty.
On Thursday, Duke announced Flagg's official injury status for the Blue Devils' first-round matchup against the No. 16 seed Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers.
Flagg will be active for the round of 64.
"Coop update --> active tomorrow vs. Mount St. Mary's," the team wrote in an announcement on X.

Flagg joined Jon Scheyer's Duke program as the nation's No. 1 overall recruit before the 2024-25 season. He's more than lived up to the expectations in his debut college basketball campaign, averaging 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Earlier this week, the ACC Player of the Year was announced as a consensus First Team All-American.
"From my perspective, it's full steam ahead," Scheyer said of Flagg's injury on Selection Sunday. "I want to get Coop back as quickly as I can, and he wants to do the same... Our goal is for Friday. No question about that."
Duke's first-round matchup against Mount St. Mary's will tipoff at 2:50 p.m. EDT on Friday.
