The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has unveiled its 2025 All-District Teams, and Duke University is once again well represented. Freshmen Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach, along with head coach Jon Scheyer, have all earned recognition in the South Atlantic division, reinforcing the Blue Devils' dominance in collegiate basketball.
Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel secured spots on the South Atlantic First Team after outstanding freshman campaigns. Flagg has been a statistical powerhouse, leading Duke in points (18.9), rebounds (7.5), assists (4.1), blocks (1.3), and steals (1.5). His all-around performance places him among the top players in ACC history, making him a contender for national honors.
Knueppel, who was instrumental in Duke’s 23rd ACC Tournament championship, further solidified his reputation with an MVP-worthy performance. Averaging 21.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists across the tournament, Knueppel has also earned All-ACC Second Team and ACC All-Freshman honors. His balanced offensive and defensive metrics rank him as the fourth-best player in the nation, according to EvanMiya’s ratings.
Another Duke freshman, Khaman Maluach, was named to the South Atlantic Second Team, making him the third Blue Devil to earn All-District honors. Maluach’s efficiency on the court has been remarkable, ranking third nationally in offensive rating (141.2) on KenPom. His shooting prowess is evident with a .706 two-point percentage, while his dominance on the glass is highlighted by an ACC-best 19.8% offensive rebounding rate. Additionally, his defensive presence is underscored by his fourth-highest block rate (6.0) in the conference.
Jon Scheyer has cemented his place among Duke’s coaching greats, being named the South Atlantic District Coach of the Year. In just his third season, Scheyer has already won two ACC Tournament titles—an unprecedented feat in conference history. With an 85-13 record over three seasons, he has surpassed Bill Guthridge’s record for the most wins by an ACC coach in their first three years. Under his leadership, Duke leads the nation in scoring margin (20.8) and winning percentage (.912), while also ranking atop the ACC in both scoring offense (82.7) and defense (61.9).
The Blue Devils enter the 2025 NCAA Tournament with a 31-3 record, having swept both the ACC regular season and tournament titles for the first time since 2006. As a No. 1 seed in the East Region, Duke will face the winner of a First Four matchup between American and Mount St. Mary’s on Friday at 2:50 p.m. ET in Raleigh, N.C.
With a rich history of All-District selections—spanning 29 consecutive seasons—Duke continues to assert itself as a powerhouse in college basketball, and this year’s NABC honors further validate its status.
