Cameron Boozer and the Duke Blue Devils had a disappointing end to the 2025-26 college basketball season. After securing the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and becoming a heavy favorite to win it all, Duke went on to lose to Braylon Mullins and the No. 2 seed UConn Huskies in the Elite Eight, falling just short of a Final Four birth.

Still, Boozer impressed during his freshman season in Durham, taking home the national college player of the year award, among many others. The forward showed his offensive versatility, averaging 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. And while Boozer is expected to be one of the first selections in the 2026 NBA Draft, another Duke star will now be returning to Durham next season.

Caleb Foster, a 6-foot-5 junior point guard from Harrisburg, North Carolina, came out of Notre Dame High School as a four-star prospect in the class of 2023 (247Sports). He committed to Duke and earned a solid role for Jon Scheyer's squad during his freshman season, averaging 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 25.4 minutes per game.

Foster saw his role decrease in 2024-25 with the likes of Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel joining the team, averaging just 14.0 minutes in 38 games played. But in his junior year, the point guard had his best season yet, becoming Duke's full-time starter, at least until his injury late in the season, averaging career highs of 8.3 points on 44.7% shooting, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists.

And on Wednesday, Foster took to social media to announce that he will be returning to Duke for his senior year in 2026-27, forgoing the transfer portal and the NBA Draft.

"Right now, I’m just focusing on the right now,” Foster said. “And right now, I feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I’ve known since day one it was always Duke. That’s the dream, and the dream hasn’t changed. I fought hard through the ups and downs because that’s who I am. I’ve never been afraid of hard things. I’ve proven that. And I’ll continue to do whatever it takes for my brothers, pour my all into this program because I know there is no better place to keep working, to keep growing and to keep pursuing my dreams than staying right here at Duke. Let’s make it legendary.”

Boozer showed support for his Duke teammate by liking Foster’s post, while his twin brother, Cayden Boozer, who will also be returning to Durham next season, shared a couple of messages for Foster: "Yessir muddd... SHI MADE SENSE."

While Foster is set to return to Duke next season, the Blue Devils did lose another guard on the same day, as Isaiah Evans has declared for the NBA draft.
