Duke’s Jon Scheyer Receives Major Update on Four-Star College Basketball Recruit

In the 2024-25 season, Jon Scheyer guided Duke to a 35-4 overall record, going 19-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play to capture both the ACC regular-season and tournament crowns.

In the NCAA Tournament, the Blue Devils dispatched Mount St. Mary’s 93-49 in the first round, Baylor (89-66) in the second, Arizona (100-93) in the Sweet 16, and Alabama (85-66) in the Elite Eight, earning a Final Four berth before falling in the national semifinals.

Duke’s offensive efficiency was among the nation’s elite, averaging 83.2 points per game (11th in Division I) while holding opponents to just 62.8 points (7th).

As the Blue Devils gear up for the 2025-26 season, in comes a pivotal recruiting update: 2026 four-star forward Sebastian Wilkins has trimmed his final list to Duke and Maryland and will make his commitment announcement on Friday, as reported by On3’s Joe Tipton.

The 6-foot-8 prospect out of Brewster Academy (NH) currently ranks No. 29 nationally, No. 4 among power forwards, and tops his home state of New Hampshire in the On3 Industry Rankings.

Wilkins’ stock has risen steadily thanks to his performance at this year’s Hoophall Classic, where he posted 22 points, eight rebounds, and three assists on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 at the foul line.

As the Blue Devils plot their course for 2025-26, the program faces significant turnover.

Duke saw all five starters from its Final Four squad depart via the NBA Draft and the transfer portal, including lottery selections Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach.

For Scheyer and Duke’s coaching staff, landing a top-30 recruit in Wilkins would send a message to future prospects that Duke remains at the summit of college basketball.
