ESPN Analyst Predicts Gonzaga Recruiting Addition for 2025-26 Season

ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla added fuel to the fire of Gonzaga basketball recruiting speculations by subtly hinting at Spanish guard Mario Saint-Supery’s imminent addition to the Bulldogs’ roster. Fraschilla, known for his deep knowledge of international basketball prospects, posted a cryptic yet telling message on social media, writing, “I’ve been told @ZagMBB are not done yet. Can you get good paella in Spokane?” This reference alludes to the traditional Spanish dish, a nod toward Saint-Supery’s nationality.

Saint-Supery, a dynamic and highly skilled guard from Spain, has been linked to Gonzaga over the past several weeks as coach Mark Few and his staff seek to fortify the Bulldogs’ backcourt depth. Gonzaga, already proactive this offseason, addressed two major roster needs via the transfer portal. First, they secured Adam Miller, a proven perimeter marksman from Arizona State, capable of immediately elevating Gonzaga’s three-point shooting. Following that, the Bulldogs landed Tyon Grant-Foster, an athletic wing from Grand Canyon University known for his versatility, scoring punch off the bounce, and defensive length.

Adding Saint-Supery would further enhance Gonzaga’s retooled backcourt, providing a playmaking guard known internationally for his basketball IQ, smooth offensive skill set, and ability to thrive in pressure-packed environments. Saint-Supery has demonstrated remarkable poise and maturity, standing out at Spain’s Liga ACB while on loan at BAXI Manresa from Unicaja Málaga. He earned ACB Best Young Team honors, underscoring his ability to contribute significantly despite his youth.

Internationally, Saint-Supery elevated his reputation at the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket, averaging more than 21 points, five rebounds, and six assists per game. This stellar performance reinforced his standing as one of Europe’s premier young talents and an intriguing prospect for Gonzaga’s continuously ambitious basketball program.

The Bulldogs’ potential acquisition of Saint-Supery aligns with their strategy of blending immediate-impact transfers with promising international talent. Gonzaga has historically succeeded in developing players from abroad, and the Spanish guard fits neatly into their established pattern.
