There's no guarantee it'll happen, but ESPN's computer model is feeling an upset for this year's Final Four.
On Saturday night, Auburn and Florida will square off in the opening Final Four game. A few hours later, Duke and Houston will face off in what should be a fun battle between the No. 1 offense and No. 1 defense in the nation.
Auburn and Florida have already met earlier this season. The Gators won that game 90-81 due to strong performances from Walter Clayton Jr. and Alex Condon. Obviously, the Tigers will want to slow down Clayton during the rematch.
"Florida won the game and controlled. We got off to a really good start, but they won the game the way they’ve been winning game, banged 13 threes, had 22 assists, their front line played with tremendous physicality and outplayed us. If that’s the case, they’re going to beat us again. They scored 90. So, their depth I think was a factor," Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said. "So, yeah, we recognize that there are a number of things that we didn’t do that they did that we’re going to have to fix this time around if we’re going to have a chance to beat them. Again, Clayton can’t be the best player on the floor again for us to win the game."
Betting odds currently show Florida as a slight favorite to win this clash between SEC powerhouses. Interestingly enough, ESPN analytics don't agree with the oddsmakers.
According to ESPN's computer model, Auburn has a 57.9 percent chance of defeating Florida.
If Auburn is going to take down Florida, it's imperative that Johni Broome is the best player on the floor. He scored 25 points in the Elite Eight.
Tipoff for this game is at 6:09 p.m. ET on CBS.
