A very intriguing matchup could be brewing in the NCAA Tournament. Former Duke Blue Devils star Jeremy Roach currently a key piece of the Baylor Bears' squad. If both teams were to win their first round matchups, they would face off against each other.

Roach going up against his old team would be a major storyline to watch.

During the 2023-24 college basketball season with Duke, Roach averaged 14.0 points, 3.3 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. He was a key part of the team and was actually a captain as well.

He has been a big part of helping Baylor get into the tournament.

Ahead of his team's first team's first tournament game, Roach has spoken out about the possibility of facing his former team in the tournament. It's a scenario that he would absolutely love to experience.

In an exclusive interview with Mirror U.S. Sports, Roach opened up about the chance to play the Blue Devils.

“It would be super special. I think that's kind of the story that the [NCAA] wanted, and they knew what they were doing putting us in the same bracket,” Roach said.

He continued on, opening up more about the potential matchup with some of his old teammates and friends.

“Definitely would be super cool just to face off with those guys," he said. "I know all those guys, been there for four years. Obviously they got a new team too, but I know quite a few of them over there - my boy Tyrese [Proctor] and Spencer Hubbard, the former walk on.”

With Baylor this season, Roach has averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 assists, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.8 steals per game.

Duke will face off against No. 16 Mount Saint Mary's in their first game of the tournament, while the Bears will take on No. 8 ranked Mississippi State.
