Former Georgia Tech center Rodney Howard has found his new home to continue his collegiate basketball career.

Howard announced today on social media that he would be continuing his career at Western Kentucky.

Howard entered the transfer portal back in April.

After transferring from Georgia after the 2019-2020 season, Howard played some during his first season in Atlanta on the ACC Tournament title team before his role grew bigger the next season.

Howard averaged 6.5 PPG and 5.1 RPG, as well as 1.5 APG during the 2021-2022 season. He was projected to be one of the main pieces on this past year's team, but Ja'von Franklin had a huge breakout season and Howard's role quickly diminished for the Yellow Jackets. He averaged 4. 5 PPG and 4.3 RPG last year in 24 games played.

Guard Deivon Smith, guard Tristan Maxwell, center Cyril Martynov, forward Freds Pauls Bagatskis, forward Jordan Meka, and forward Jalon Moore all entered the transfer portal as well. Howard, Smith, and Moore have been contributors over the past couple of seasons, but the others had small roles. Smith announced he will be transferring to Utah a few weeks ago, Martynov is heading to Eastern Michigan, Pauls Bagatskis is going to play at UT-Arlington and Moore recently committed to Oklahoma.

Kowacie Reeves (Florida), Ebenezer Dowuona (NC State), Tyzhaun Claude (Western Carolina), Tafara Gapare (UMass), Amaree Abram (Ole Miss), and Jalen Forrest (Presbyterian) are the transfers joining the program this offseason.
