The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Maryland Terrapins in an instant classic game on Saturday at the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis, setting the stage for a winner-take-all game vs. the Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The Michigan win was sealed by a coast-to-coast layup from former Auburn transfer and current Wolverines guard Tre Donaldson as coach Dusty May's team won 81-80.

The win was the Wolverines' 24th on the season, prompting a tweet from former Wolverines coach and two-time Final Four participant John Beilein congratulating Donaldson and his teammates on their huge play to beat coach Kevin Willard's Terps.

"I have to tweet on that one," Beilein said. "What a beautiful play set up by (Dusty May) and the coaching staff executed by Tre ! Fabulous ! Let's win it all now! #goblue."

Beilein, whose X account boasts nearly 110,000 followers, assisted in the Wolverines' pursuit of May, who previously coached the Florida Atlantic Owls to the Final Four in 2023.

Michigan got 21 points from star big man Daniel Wolf and 25 points from his frontcourt mate Vladislav Goldin on the afternoon as they knocked off the Big Ten's second-seeded team from College Park, Maryland.

Next up for Michigan is a date with coach Greg Gard's Wisconsin Badgers, who dispatched of the Michigan State Spartans in the other semi-final by a score of 77-74.
