Former Oklahoma Point Guard Finds New Home
USA TODAY Sports

Former Oklahoma point guard Bijan Cortes has chosen his new home.

Cortes, a sophomore who played two seasons at OU, entered the NCAA Transfer Portal last month shortly after the Sooners’ season ended.

He announced his new school Sunday on Instagram: he’ll play next season at Wichita State.

Cortes, from Kingfisher, OK, played in 59 games for head coach Porter Moser after originally signing with Lon Kruger. The Sooners never made it to the NCAA Tournament during his two seasons.

Cortes averaged 11.6 and 17.2 minutes per game in 2021-22 and 2022-23, scored 2.6 points per game, grabbed 1.5 rebounds and shot 47.5 percent from the field.
