He was NOT happy with Filipowski.

One former Tar Heel took major issue with Duke forward Kyle Filipowski’s antics in last night’s game. It is another incident for the Blue Devil big man, who, just two weeks ago was involved in a big moment with Wake Forest court stormers where he was said to be injured.

What Happened?

As Filipowski and UNC forward Harrison Ingram got tangled up, Filipowski stuck his leg out and tripped Ingram as he was running down the court. This kind of thing has become common for Duke players. Just a few years ago, it was Grayson Allen who was constantly involved in scuffles and dirty plays.

Former Tar Heel Takes Issue

As the game went on, and even after the game, former UNC forward Brice Johnson sounded off on social media. Here are some of his posts made on X:

“Ain’t no way I just watched a blatant trip on replay and no tech was called……”

“The fact that he did a terrible job of selling the floor being slippery demands at least a 2 game suspension… #Trash”

“Hey is your knee good? @kylefilipowski”

“.@JayBilas we are patiently waiting on a comment to the events that occurred during that game? We didn’t hear anything during the broadcast tonight”

“Someone tell 30 on Duke.. to not play the victim and just apologize… we felt bad during the court storming but I hate you now after that tripping. Because you knew what you were doing. We all watched the replay it  As RDub used to say “the big eye in the sky don’t lie”

“I won’t rest until that Duke play acknowledges he tripped him. Don’t play the victim after the Wake game and then you do this…”

Listen @kylefilipowski… we did all this publicity for you when Wake stormed the court and we felt bad for you and then trip someone tonight and give the comments you did post game… come on dawg! Do better I’m not having it! Don’t do this just apologize and say you were wrong”

Johnson stuck up for Ingram and called Filipowski out for the dirty play. Those types of things get players hurt.
