Even before the Georgia Bulldogs spring football game on G-Day, the program received positive news.
On3's Hayes Fawcett reported Saturday that 2026 safety Kealan Jones committed to the Bulldogs.
The Marietta, Ga., native verbally committed to Georgia over the Florida Gators, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Michigan Wolverines.
Rivals has Jones rated as a four-star prospect. The consensus ranking, though, is three stars for the local prospect.
In Georgia, Jones is the No. 54 in-state prospect according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. The same rankings also have the safety rated as the No. 34 prospect at his position and No. 451 overall in the country.
Jones explained to On3 why he chose the Bulldogs over two of the program's biggest rivals.
“It was just through the real attention they were showing me over time, that I’m worthy, that has just continued to grow, and it still is,” Jones told On3's Jeremy Johnson.

Georgia has also received a commitment from four-star safety Zech Fort in the 2026 recruiting class. But Jones sounds ready to compete for his playing time.
“They really were honest with me,” Jones said. “They’re honest coaches. It’s not them saying I’m going to come in and start immediately, but I’m going to have a chance to with how the roster’s going to look and, with who I am, I’m going to have a fair chance to come in and fight for a spot on the field somehow.”
