After being off for nearly two weeks, Georgia will return to the court Saturday when it hosts High Point in Athens, Ga.

The Bulldogs (6-3) last played Dec. 5 when they earned a 76-62 win over rival Georgia Tech at home, where they are 5-0 this season.

In that game, head coach Mike White was happiest with his team's defensive effort. The Bulldogs are allowing 69.9 points per game while averaging 72.1. They held Georgia Tech to 32 percent shooting from the field.

"We work on it (defense) a lot, of course. I think we've got good defensive players," White told reporters after the win over Georgia Tech. "Overall, I think our guys are pretty locked into understanding we can hang our hats on it."

Offensively, Jabri Abdur-Rahim leads the team in scoring at 13.0 points per game while Noah Thomasson is putting up 12.8 points per outing. Silas Demary Jr. has contributed 8.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game along with a team-high 13 steals.

The Panthers (8-3) come into this matchup having won five consecutive games, most recently 75-62 over North Carolina A&T last Saturday.

Head coach Alan Huss spoke after the game about how his team faced a tough test defensively.

"NC A&T really played a lot of our guys (well) defensively, even some of our best shooters, and we really like to take shots with energy in the ball," Huss said. "We like to draw two defenders to the basketball before we kick it to someone for a shot."

The Panthers, who are 1-2 on the road this season, rank ninth in Division I at 89.1 ppg. Duke Miles leads High Point in scoring at 19.5 ppg. Kimani Hamilton is averaging 14.6 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game.

Georgia is 2-0 all-time against High Point.
