Georgia will reportedly hire Florida's Mike White as men's basketball coach

Just three days after the Georgia Bulldogs fired men's basketball coach Tom Crean, the team tabbed a rival's coach to take over. According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Georgia is set to hire Florida Gators coach Mike White.

Florida may not be too sad to see White leave after seven seasons, though. While the Gators finished second in the SEC and went to the Elite Eight in 2017, the team hasn't made the Sweet Sixteen since.

Most recently, Florida was a ranked team early in the year, but finished the regular season 19-13 and ninth place in the SEC standings. The Gators were quickly bounced from the SEC Tournament by eighth-seeded Texas A&M with an 83-80 overtime loss. A spot in the 2022 NCAA Tournament appears unlikely for the program.

White, 45, will have his work cut out for him at Georgia, where he'll take over a program that just had one of its worst seasons ever. The Bulldogs finished 6-26 and won just one of 18 conference matchups.
