The Gonzaga Bulldogs were one of many high profile programs that reached out early to North Dakota transfer Treysen Eaglestaff, but the 6'6 wing is instead headed across the country to play for Lamont Paris and the South Carolina Gamecocks, according to Joe Tipton of On3.
Tipton indicates Eaglestaff picked South Carolina over Gonzaga, Kansas, and Kentucky, among others. Villanova, St. John's, Alabama, Michigan, and UCLA were all known to have contacted Eaglestaff as well.
The 6'6 wing from Bismarck spent the past three seasons with the Bison, culminating in a junior campaign where he averaged 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 35.9% from three on 7.1 attempts per game.
Eaglestaff had multiple incredible performances this year, including dropping 40 points in a non-conference matchup against Alabama and 51 points against South Dakota State in the Summit League Tournament.

For Gonzaga it's another high profile player choosing a power conference program, following Donovan Dent heading to UCLA and Owen Freeman choosing Creighton.
The Zags have their eye on quite a few players available in the portal, including Bryce Lindsay and Izaiah Pasha. The coaching staff will be busy this offseason, having lost four starters to graduation in Ryan Nembhard, Nolan Hickman, Khalif Battle, and Ben Gregg, as well as three players to the portal in Dusty Stromer, Michael Ajayi, and Jun Seok Yeo.
As such, there will be plenty of transfers landing in Spokane in the coming weeks, even if the first few big name targets are headed elsewhere.
