This is the second-straight year that Uzan tested the NBA Draft waters, but elected to return to the Cougars.
Uzan returns to the Cougars where he averaged 11.1 points per game, 4.3 assists per game and 3.1 rebounds per game. He also shot a career-best 42.8% from three-point range, while hitting 45.3% from the field.
Uzan was named to the All-Big 12 second team. He helped Houston go 35-5, winning the Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles and earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. The Cougars lost to Florida in the national championship game.
Uzan’s return sets up Houston to possibly be the No. 1 team in the Preseason Top 25. Other key players returning include also returning starters Emanuel Sharp, the team’s second-leading scorer, and Joseph Tugler, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
The NCAA deadline for players to withdraw from the NBA draft and maintain college eligibility is Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. ET.
