Iowa State-Texas Tech men's basketball game postponed due to COVID-19

The No. 12-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders will remain idle through the weekend.

Both Texas Tech and the Iowa State Cyclones have confirmed that Saturday's men's basketball game between the two schools has been postponed due to ongoing COVID-19 issues affecting Iowa State. Iowa State hasn't competed since falling to 2-7 overall via a 91-64 loss to Texas Tech on Jan. 9 and has since had four contests postponed.

The Cyclones are next scheduled to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Jan. 25.

Texas Tech, meanwhile, has had back-to-back games scrapped. The Red Raiders were supposed to play at the TCU Horned Frogs on Wednesday but had that matchup called off after TCU coach Jamie Dixon tested positive for the coronavirus.

Texas Tech will now hope to compete at the No. 14-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers next Monday. The West Virginia program has been dealing with COVID-19 problems for roughly one week and has had three consecutive games postponed. As of Tuesday evening, the Mountaineers remained scheduled to play at the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday.
