Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks will have a key contributor back in Eugene for next season. According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Jackson Shelstad is officially staying with a lucrative NIL deal and putting off the NBA.
Oregon lost starting big man Nate Bittle after he declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. However, he'll maintain his NCAA eligibility and can return.
"Sources: Oregon’s Jackson Shelstad has signed his deal at Oregon, which makes his return for his junior season with the Ducks official," Thamel wrote on X. "He averaged 13.7 points per game last year, which was second on the team. He’ll be one of the top returners in the Big Ten next year."

Nike would 'greatly benefit' as Oregon lawmakers consider NIL bill
Shelstad was a full time starter for the Ducks last season, averaging 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Oregon came up just short of a Sweet 16 appearance after an 87-83 loss to Arizona in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Shelstad finished with 25 points.

Like many college basketball teams, the Ducks will be diving deep in the portal to build a new roster before next fall. Oregon gained Texas forward Devon Pryor and will look for a few more additions.
