Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports

Jaxson Robinson paced a high-powered offense with 19 points and No. 14 BYU thrashed Evansville 96-55 on Tuesday in Provo, Utah.

Robinson shot 7-for-13 overall and 4-for-9 from 3-point range as one of five Cougars players in double figures.

BYU (8-0), which led Division I by making 12.7 3-pointers per game entering the game, went 14-for-32 from the beyond the arc on Tuesday. The Cougars outshot Evansville 52.9 percent to 33.3 percent from the field, and the hosts assisted on 26 of their 36 made field goals.

The Cougars got 13 points and seven rebounds from Trevin Knell, 12 points and eight rebounds from Noah Waterman, 11 points from Atiki Ally Atiki and 10 points and six boards from Dallin Hall.

It marked BYU's fourth win of more than 40 points this season. The Cougars will try to use that as momentum entering a rivalry game at Utah on Saturday.

Yacine Toumi led Evansville (7-2) with 13 points and seven rebounds. Antonio Thomas added 10 points and Ben Humrichous had eight points and six boards.

Toumi made a layup for a 10-9 Evansville lead five minutes into the game before the Purple Aces went the next 5:46 without a point, missing seven field-goal attempts (including five 3-point tries) during their drought.

BYU filled that space with a 17-0 sprint, ignited by Aly Khalifa's five points in 40 seconds.

Evansville clawed within nine points before BYU ended the half on a 16-3 run. Robinson knocked down consecutive 3-pointers, Knell added a trey and Waterman beat the buzzer with a nice layup play for a 47-25 halftime lead.

Knell weaved through three defenders for a layup to increase BYU's lead to 60-29 with 16:20 remaining. Knell and Hall added back-to-back treys two minutes later, and the rout was on.

A 16-0 run gave BYU an astounding 85-38 lead with 7:31 left. Ally Atiki provided six points, including two dunks, during that span.
