Edwards worked his way into an NBA draft combine invitation, where he spent a week in Chicago with other prospects.

“It feels amazing. Like everybody in this room, you try to keep the logo on your chest for as long as you can. It’s been a grind, crazy path this summer. Can’t wait to keep it going, hopefully,” Edwards told media at the time.

The former Mountaineer and Syracuse Orange played in the Reese’s Division-I All-Star Game during the Final Four weekend in Phoenix, Az. The 6-foot-11 big man finished with eight points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes. Edwards also recorded eight points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks during the final game of the G League Elite Camp session.

Edwards averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks through 23 games with the Mountaineers. Edwards was sidelined for over a month with a fractured right wrist from December to January.
