Just a few short years ago, Johni Broome couldn't have imagined the opportunity that stands before him now.
A three-star prospect out of Tampa Catholic High School, the big man barely cracked most recruiting services' national top 500 rankings for the class of 2020. Amid a litany of mid-major offers, he opted to make Morehead State his ol' Kentucky home.
After two dominating years in the Ohio Valley Conference, he hit college basketball's transfer portal in search of greater challenges, eventually landing with Bruce Pearl's Auburn Tigers.
Now, the 6-foot-10 operator enters this week's 2025 NBA Draft as a consensus First Team All-American, SEC Player of the Year, and The Sporting News' National Player of the Year.
That got us thinking -- where do the leading experts see Big Broome landing to kick-start his professional dreams?
Bolstering the newly-crowned NBA champs? Teaming up with Giannis in the Badger State? Learning the Shaolin arts from Victor Wembanyama?
The possibilities are tantalizing.
In his final campaign on the Plains, the 22-year-old averaged 18.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game -- all career bests -- to go along with 2.1 blocks. Auburn put forth the single best regular season resume in college hoops in 2024-25, ultimately earning the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The Tigers' brilliant season took Broome and Co. all the way to the Final Four in San Antonio, where they were ultimately defeated in the national semifinal against the eventual champion Florida Gators.

The 2025 NBA Draft takes place from June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
