Bill Self has had a busy offseason reshaping his staff with the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball program. Coming off a disappointing season where Kansas opened as the preseason No. 1 but suffered a first-round NCAA tournament loss to Arkansas, the Jayhawks made another staff change on Thursday.
Fred Quartlebaum, who served as the director of basketball operations, is no longer with the program. Taking his place is a familiar face – Lexi Price.
The Kansas men's basketball account announced the move Thursday on social media:
"Coach Self has elevated Lexi Price to Kansas Men’s Basketball Director of Operations #RockChalk x @lexiprice22

Price is no stranger to the Jayhawks. She has been the program’s office manager since December 2021. She was a student team manager for four seasons before that. A 2022 graduate of Kansas, Price has spent years immersed in the day-to-day operations of Jayhawk basketball.
Coach Self spoke highly of her in the announcement:
"Lexi is one of the most organized and detail-oriented individuals I have been around," Self said. "Her skill set allows this to be a seamless and smooth transition. The new position will be a continuation of her current role in addition to coordinating student-athlete enrollment, housing, and team travel."
During Quartlebaum’s tenure, Kansas achieved significant success. The Jayhawks won six Big 12 regular-season titles, claimed two Big 12 tournament championships, made three trips to the Elite Eight and won the NCAA national championship in 2022.
Looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, Kansas features a mostly new roster. Standout big man Flory Bidunga elected to return, and the Jayhawks added one of the top freshmen in the country in Darryn Peterson.
