Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks finished the college basketball season on a sour note. Entering the NCAA Tournament as the No. 4 seed in the East Region, Kansas picked up a first-round win over the No. 13 California Baptist Lancers. However, their path to a national championship was cut short soon after, losing to the No. 5 St. John's Red Storm in the second round.

Now into the offseason, Self is preparing for a handful of roster changes, which include navigating the transfer portal. The entry window officially opens on Tuesday and runs through April 21, giving players 15 days. The Jayhawks are already set to lose three players, with the latest departure coming on Monday.

Bryson Tiller, a 6-foot-11 and 240-pound forward out of Atlanta, Georgia, was a four-star prospect and the No. 76 player in the nation out of the 2024 recruiting class, according to Rivals Industry Rankings. He chose the Jayhawks over teams such as the Auburn Tigers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Indiana Hoosiers.

After redshirting as a true freshman, he made a big impact for Kansas this season. Appearing in 35 games and making 31 starts, Tiller averaged 7.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, one assist, and 1.3 blocks per game. He also shot 44.9% from the field and 26.9% from beyond the three-point line.

However, his time with Kansas is now over. On Monday, On3 reported that Tiller plans to enter the transfer portal once it officially opens. He will have three more years of eligibility for whichever team he lands with.

Tiller is certainly an unfortunate loss for the Jayhawks. However, Self may look for a potential replacement through the portal. Last offseason, Kansas brought in three transfer players while losing seven.
