The No. 15 Kentucky Wildcats (17-7) are gearing up for a high-profile matchup on Saturday night when they face the Texas Longhorns (15-10) at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

Set to tip off at 8 p.m. EST, Kentucky has already received some crushing injury news ahead of the matchup. This setback could prove significant against a Longhorns team that is aiming for a quad-one victory against a ranked SEC opponent.

After releasing the updated SEC injury reports for all upcoming games, Kentucky announced that all three of its point guards—Lamont Butler, Jaxson Robinson, and Kerr Kriisa—will be sidelined for the game.

However, Texas will also be without some key players. Chendall Weaver is confirmed to miss Saturday’s game, and it appears that Arthur Kaluma will be sidelined as well. Both players have stepped into starting roles for the Longhorns this season.

With Kentucky already facing injury setbacks, the Wildcats’ guard play will now be in question as they go up against one of the nation’s top freshman guards, Tre Johnson, who is averaging 19.3 points per game.

Kentucky will have to compensate for the loss of Robinson, who ranks second on the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game, and Butler, who’s third in scoring (12.5 points per game) but leads the team with 4.6 assists per game.

Robinson has also logged the most minutes for the Wildcats (28.6), while Butler plays the third most (26.2). Kentucky is coming off an impressive home win against the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers and will look to pull off a shorthanded victory against a Texas team that can’t afford many more losses.
