Leaky Black has his best game, former Tar Heels produce in Thursday’s Summer League slate
USA TODAY Sports

With NBA Summer League wrapping up in a couple of days, former North Carolina standouts, none of whom were drafted, have limited chances of proving themselves worthy of an NBA roster.

All four Tar Heels played Thursday in their final Summer League games before the concluding tournament and consolation games take place over the weekend. They all saw the floor, and each made contributions to their respective teams.

Check below to see exactly how the former Tar Heels did.

Leaky Black

After not seeing any action in the first two games and failing to score in the third outing in Las Vegas, Black made the most of his opportunity Thursday night.

In a 89-83 loss to the Pelicans, Black recorded eight points, eight rebounds and shot 75 percent from the floor.

He made two threes with his only miss coming in the game's final seconds as the Hornets attempted a comeback. Black looked for his shot more, and he's been more active on the boards, grabbing 12 rebounds over the last two games.

Unfortunately, the Hornets finished 0-4 in Summer League play and will likely play in a consolation game Saturday or Sunday. Black, who is on a two-way contract, will have one more chance to prove his worth for the Hornets' final roster.

Garrison Brooks

Brooks also had his best Summer League outing for the Pelicans Thursday night.

In a win over the Hornets, he posted 10 points, four rebounds and shot 80 percent from the floor.

He's been consistently converting high-percentage looks on the inside, making 79 percent of shots over the four games in Las Vegas.

Brooks played 22 games for the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League last year, averaging a double-double of 13.6 points and 11. 6 rebounds per game.

He signed with the Pelicans for Summer League play on July 6, averaging 7.3 points and 4.5 rebounds over the four games in Las Vegas.

The Pelicans are in sixth place, likely giving Brooks one more shot to prove himself in a consolation game.

Brady Manek

Brady Manek put up yet another double-digit scoring performance for the Hawks on Thursday.

In Atlanta's 99-98 win over Philadelphia, Manek scored 13 points while shooting 45 percent from the floor and his Summer League-low 20 percent from three.

Manek also grabbed six rebounds.

Although this wasn't his most efficient game in Las Vegas, Manek was still the second-leading scorer for the Hawks.

Over the three games he appeared in, Manek proved he can be a significant contributor on offense while also helping out on the boards.

Manek averaged 13.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in his three games. With the Hawks sitting at seventh place, he will likely have one more chance to showcase his scoring ability in a consolation game.

Pete Nance

Nance continued his consistent production for the Cavaliers Thursday night, posting eight points, five rebounds, and two assists in 27 minutes. Cleveland beat Chicago 87-83 and finished 4-0 in Las Vegas.

Although he committed seven fouls (players get 10 fouls in Summer League) and missed his two three-point attempts, Nance shot a decent 44 percent from the floor.

Over the four games in Las Vegas, Nance has averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds on 50 percent shooting. He has shot 42 percent from three.

The Cavaliers are the No. 1 Summer League team and will play in a semifinal game on Sunday.
