Jizzle James is slated to help lead the Bearcats basketball team this fall but posted an odd NBA draft declaration on Instagram Tuesday, almost a month past the entry deadline (April 26).

James noted he is declaring for the 2025 draft, but cannot be on the selection board anyway because he did not enter by the deadline as an incoming junior.

"Players who have applied for early entry have the right to withdraw their names from consideration for the Draft by notifying the NBA of their decision in writing no later than 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 15," The league stated in its 106-player early entry announcement. "Under NCAA rules, to retain college basketball eligibility, college players who have entered NBA Draft 2025 must withdraw by Wednesday, May 28."

James would've had a week left to decide, but he never even entered on time. Maybe it's a motivational post to spark the path towards getting drafted next year. The 2025 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention posted 12.7 points per game to go with three rebounds and 3.5 assists in his first season as a starter (he opened all 35 games).
