In typical Look of the Day fashion, Evan Mobley finished with nine rebounds on Wednesday night to fall one short of his over. The bad breaks keep on coming, but that won't stop us from firing every day. For Thursday's pick, let's move over to the college game and target a short home favorite that's getting hot at the right time.
After an embarrassing 6-10 start to the season, UCLA has finally come alive with seven wins in its last eight games. The Bruins' only loss in that span came on the road against No. 5 Arizona as 17.5-point underdogs, and they led by as many as 17 in the second half before crumbling down the stretch.
This isn't the same UCLA team we watched for most of the season. Mick Cronin's squad is back to its defensive identity, giving up just 64.3 points per game over the last eight contests. It won't be easy to keep that going against a potent Colorado offense, but the Buffaloes aren't nearly as intimidating when they go on the road.
Colorado is averaging 85.1 points per game on 52.0 percent shooting and 42.1 percent from three at home. When they go on the road, though, the Buffaloes are averaging just 74.4 points per game on 45.4 percent shooting and 33.5 percent from deep.
Those are massive discrepancies, and they explain why Colorado is 1-6 against the spread in true road games this season. We'll ride the hot hand with UCLA.
