Look of the Day for Tuesday, Jan. 9: Let's Wade right in

We didn't get to sweat out our Look of the Day for Monday night because the Boston Celtics ruled out Jayson Tatum a few hours after the pick went live. Don't you just love the NBA in 2024?

Oh well. Let's officially start the week off strong with our favorite college basketball spread pick for Tuesday night's slate.

Look of the Day: Texas A&M Aggies +7.5 (-110 DraftKings)

We finally have a decent sample size of data for the 2023-24 college basketball season, so it's time to start firing on some NCAA bets. What better way to start than to fade one of the hottest teams in the entire country?

Auburn has looked like a juggernaut over the last few weeks. The Tigers have won seven straight games by an average of 25.1 points, and they're coming off a 32-point drubbing of Arkansas on the road over the weekend. Auburn is now up to fifth in the country in KenPom's efficiency ratings, but Bruce Pearl's squad is getting too much credit Tuesday night against an underrated Texas A&M team.

Texas A&M is only 9-5 through 14 games, but it ranks 34th in the country in adjusted efficiency margin due to a tough strength of schedule and some unlucky breaks. The Aggies love to slow down the pace and keep the game in the halfcourt, which will be important against an Auburn team that can speed you up and kill you in transition.

Texas A&M stayed inside this number against Houston, Memphis and Florida Atlantic. The Aggies also knocked off Ohio State, SMU and Iowa State, while Auburn lost to the only ranked team it played this season (Baylor). We'll take the more battle-tested team getting three possessions.
