Miami senior guard Nijel Pack plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after three seasons with the Hurricanes. Pack transferred to Miami following his sophomore year with Kansas State, signing one of the most lucrative NIL deals in college basketball to the tune of $800,000.

Pack is regarded as one of the best three-point shooters in the country, shooting 40% from beyond the arc on over six attempts per game for his career. He enters the portal with a reputation as someone who can be an impact player for a playoff team, as the fourth-leading scorer in Miami’s 2023 Final Four run.

Pack’s first year in Coral Gables was extremely successful, with the Canes reaching the Final Four for the first time in program history. Pack played a significant role in the Hurricanes' success in the tournament, averaging 16.4 points and shooting 42.6% from three in the postseason.

The following season, Pack dealt with a nagging lower-body injury for most of the season that kept him from playing his best basketball. Fans had hope that the 2024-2025 season would be a bounce-back year for the veteran sharpshooter, but he suffered another lower-body injury after just nine games. This injury kept Pack in a walking boot for the remainder of the season.

The Hurricanes lost longtime Head Coach Jim Larrañaga to an abrupt retirement shortly after Pack went down, and their season seemed to fall apart from there. The Hurricanes went on to have one of their worst seasons to date, winning just seven games.

Pack will now seek a medical redshirt and enter the portal as a highly coveted piece for a team needing a veteran presence and top-notch shooting talent.
