Miami’s Isaiah Wong Declares for 2023 NBA Draft
Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Miami Hurricanes guard Isaiah Wong has made his decision and it is to enter his name into the 2023 NBA Draft. After being named the ACC Player of the Year and leading the Hurricanes to a Final Four appearance, Wong will now explore his opportunities in the NBA.

“Deciding to be a Miami Hurricane will forever be one of my greatest choices being a part of this team working together through highs and lows,” Wong said in a video posted on social media. “I created lifetime bonds and friendships helping Miami make history again and again has made the late nights and early mornings worth every moment.”

Wong leaves the Hurricanes as the fourth-highest scorer in Miami basketball history. For this season he averaged 16.2 points while shooting 44.5 percent from the field. He also averaged 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He shot 38.4 percent from the 3-point line and 84.5% from the free throw line.

Wong is a 6-4 guard and will look to play either of the backcourt positions in the NBA. He has big-game experience and has a way of being able to find his own shot. With the new NBA and 3-point focus, Wong could be a nice addition to a team as a player coming off the bench to score and defend.

The NBA Draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 22.
