Mike Krzyzewski 'will have nothing to do with' Duke program after final season

Two days ahead of his final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium located on the campus of Duke University, the face of the Blue Devils men's basketball program for over four decades met with media members on Thursday to discuss his upcoming retirement.

No. 7 Duke will host rival North Carolina in both teams' regular-season finale at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday in what is expected to be one of the most electric atmospheres of the 2021-2022 college basketball season.

Mike Krzyzewski has been at the helm of the Blue Devils since the 1980-1981 season and has led the program to 35 NCAA Tournament appearances, 12 Final Fours and five national titles. In his 47-year head coaching career, "Coach K" has compiled a 1,196-365 record (.766 winning percentage).

The 75-year-old is the all-time leader in games coached and wins. Krzyzewski also has three Naismith College Coach of the Year honors, five ACC Coach of the Year Awards and five Olympic gold medals as a coach with the United States men's national team (three as head coach).

Once the season is over, "Coach K" said that will be it for his basketball career.
