Missouri pours it on in second half, topples Georgia

Missouri's D'Moi Hodge scored 18 points and Tigers used a second-half surge to pull away for an 85-63 victory over host Georgia in Southeastern Conference play on Saturday at Athens, Ga.

Hodge tied a season-high with six 3-pointers on 11 attempts to go along with a pair of rebounds and assists. Nick Honor added 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range, to go along with four assists.

Missouri's Noah Carter had 12 points and four assists and DeAndre Gholston chipped in 10 points. Kobe Brown finished with eight points and nine rebounds for the Tigers (21-8, 9-7), who have won four of their last six games.

Missouri outscored Georgia 45-22 in the second half, finishing the game by shooting 33 of 57 (57.9 percent) from the field, including a scorching 14 of 28 (50 percent) from 3-point range.

The Tigers scored 32 points off the Bulldogs' 19 turnovers, while Georgia had just 11 points of Missouri's 13 miscues.

Georgia (16-13, 6-10) was led by Braelen Bridges' double-double with 12 points and game-high 10 rebounds. Kario Oquendo had 14 points, while Mardrez McBride added 12 points for the Bulldogs, who lost for the ninth time in their past 12 games.

The Bulldogs shot 19 of 46 (41.3 percent) from the field, including 10 of 29 (34.5 percent) from beyond the arc.

Trailing 41-40 at halftime, Missouri opened the second half on a 15-3 run to take a 55-44 lead it wouldn't relinquish following Honor's jumper with 13:46 remaining.

Honor's 3-pointer extended the Tigers' advantage to 69-49 with 8:57 left. Tre Gomillion's dunk pushed Missouri's lead to 85-59 with 1:10 to play.

Georgia led by as many eight in the first half before Missouri chipped away and pulled to within one point at halftime.

Oquendo scored 13 points and McBride added eight in the first 20 minutes for Georgia.

Missouri was led by Hodge's 12 first-half points.
