A college basketball game between Atlantic 10 rivals Fordham and Dayton had to briefly be put on hold Wednesday night in the Bronx. The cause for that delay was a leaky roof.
Action came to a halt midway through the second half with the visiting Flyers beginning to pull away. Nasty weather was to blame.
New York City has been pelted with a mix of rain and snow this week as storms continue to surge throughout the area. That was again the case on Wednesday when the two foes took the court.

Temperatures were in the low 30s, and precipitation was expected. Being inside, those conditions weren’t expected to have much impact on the game, itself.
They would… With about 10 minutes left in regulation, and Dayton holding a slight lead, moisture began to gather on the court. Play was stopped to clean the mess. It was a bizarre scene with the gym being completely covered.

When play picked back up, it was one-sided. The Flyers outscored the Rams 26-16 the rest of the way. They’d go onto win, 93-76, to improve to 17-8 on the season.
The Rams’ struggles continued as they fell to 11-13. The school has already seen head coach Keith Urgo suspended for an NCAA violation. The season keeps going from bad to worse.
Fordham is now in danger of finishing dead last in the A-10 basketball standings following another conference loss. They’ll look to rebound on Saturday against Richmond.
