RJ Davis saw his five-year college basketball career with the North Carolina Tar Heels come to an end after a 2025 NCAA Tournament first-round loss to the Ole Miss Rebels.
Davis, the 6-foot guard out of White Plains, NY, is now attempting to take his talents to the NBA. He wasn't one of the initial 75 invites to the 2025 NBA Draft Combine, but he did receive the call for the G League Elite Camp in Chicago, which took place from Friday to Sunday.
A total of 45 players were invited by the NBA G League to the camp. If prospects performed well enough, there was a chance they could receive an invite to the draft combine (May 11-18).
Through two G League Elite Camp scrimmages, Davis was one of the top performers in Chicago. He averaged 13.5 points on 52.6% shooting, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals. He also went up against former UNC teammate Caleb Love in the first contest.
Following the final Sunday scrimmage, only five players received an invite to the NBA combine and, despite his solid play, Davis was not one of them.
The new combine invites include:

Ryan Nembhard (Gonzaga)
Yanic Konan Niederhauser (Penn State)
Lachlan Olbrich (Australia)
Although it may be unlikely Davis goes high in the upcoming draft, he should—at the very least—be able to show off his talents in the NBA Summer League in July.
During his long tenure in Chapel Hill, Davis became one of the better players in UNC history. He finished his career averaging 15.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists, while becoming North Carolina's No. 2 all-time leading scorer (2,725 total points), right behind Tyler Hansbrough (2,872).
Davis will hope to hear his name called at the 2025 NBA Draft at Barclays Center in New York City. The first round will be held on June 25, while the second round will be on the following day.
