Since the end of the college basketball season, top NBA prospects have been training and preparing for the 2025 draft.
Leading up to the draft, which is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET in Brooklyn, New York, players have also been working out for teams. These pre-draft workouts give teams a chance to evaluate talent in person rather than relying solely on film.
While some players only attend a few workouts, others have been showcasing their skills for more than half of the league. The process can take a physical toll, and that was evident after news surfaced Saturday.
According to ESPN NBA draft analyst Jonathan Givony, citing the player's agent, Oklahoma Sooners forward Jalon Moore tore his Achilles tendon while working out for the San Antonio Spurs.
The 22-year-old was completing his 13th pre-draft workout and still had three more scheduled. This is certainly a tough blow for Moore, who was ranked No. 63 in ESPN’s draft class.
Four days before the Draft, many prospects are hobbling to the finish line after crisscrossing the country to participate in grueling, competitive workouts. This was Moore's 13th, with 3 remaining. Fair to question the physical toll involved, relative to the value they provide. https://t.co/2Fzy00hBVd

The 6-foot-7, 215-pound small forward played two seasons for the Sooners after transferring from Georgia Tech, where he also played two seasons.
In his senior year, Moore started all 34 games, averaging 15.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. Over his college career, he became an excellent 3-point shooter, hitting 38.1% during the 2024-25 college basketball season.
Moore is from Birmingham, Alabama, and played high school basketball at Gardendale, where he was ranked as a three-star recruit and the 213th-best player in the class of 2021 by 247Sports.
