At the top of that list is Alexandre Sarr of Perth (Australia), who is the projected No. 1 overall pick. Teams across the NBA will get a look at him at the combine. The 18-year-old is known primarily for his defense, blocking 1.3 shots in 17.2 minutes per outing for the Wildcats.

Then in the 2-6 spot on the rankings, there are some familiar faces from the back-to-back national champions, the UConn Huskies. Freshman Stephon Castle and big man Donovan Clingan will be at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine.

Castle was dominant in his lone season in college basketball, earning Big East Freshman of the Year honors en route to yet another dominant run in the NCAA Tournament for the Huskies. Donovan Clingan was one of the most impactful players in America the past two years. He earned honorable mention AP All-American honors this year, after earning Big East All-Freshman team honors in 2023. Clingan is one of the best defenders in America, averaging 15.3 points per game and 3.2 blocks per game in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

A few other familiar faces from the SEC will be at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine: Rob Dillingham of Kentucky, Reed Sheppard of Kentucky, and Dalton Knecht of Tennessee. They’re ranked in the 7-10 slots on Charania’s list. Dillingham showcased the ability to be one of the most explosive scorers in all of college basketball this year for the Wildcats, averaging 15.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.

Sheppard burst onto the scene as a true freshman for UK, scoring 12.5 points per game and dishing out 4.5 assists per game, while shooting 52.1% from long range. Dalton Knecht was one of the most explosive scorers in college basketball this year for the Volunteers. He helped propel them all the way to an Elite Eight appearance against the Purdue Boilermakers. Tennessee lost the game 72-66, but it wasn’t without an impressive eruption from Knecht, who dropped 37 points, three rebounds, and a steal in the stat sheet.
