The North Carolina Tar Heels have one of the more storied programs in the history of college basketball, but the 2024-25 season wasn't exactly a storied season for them.
While they qualified for the men's NCAA Tournament by defeating San Diego State in the First Four round, they fell in the first round of the tournament, 71-64, to Ole Miss.
Seth Trimble, a junior guard who is originally from Wisconsin, contributed nine points, four rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes off the bench during that loss. He announced that he will be staying in Chapel Hill for the 2025-26 campaign.

Trimble has gradually upped his production during his time with the Tar Heels. This season, he averaged 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.3 assists a game, and he improved his free throw accuracy to 82.1 percent.
At 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, Trimble may have to play a bigger role next season with RJ Davis moving on to the NBA and a couple of other Tar Heels entering the transfer portal.
Trimble has excellent athleticism and quickness, and he tends to spark North Carolina on the defensive end of the court. Having him back will greatly help stabilize North Carolina's backcourt and keep the Tar Heels competitive.
