Oklahoma guard Nijel Pack has received a medical waiver from the NCAA after suffering a season-ending foot injury.
Head coach Porter Moser confirmed that Pack is now fully cleared and eligible to participate in all basketball activities entering the 2025–26 season.
Pack joins the Sooners after transferring from Miami, bringing a wealth of Power Five experience. He earned First-Team All–Big 12 honors during his time at Kansas State and averaged 14.3 points per game over his college career.
The waiver grants him an extra year of eligibility, allowing him to suit up for Oklahoma after missing most of the 2024–25 season due to injury.
Porter Moser praised Pack’s recovery and readiness. With no restrictions in place, the veteran guard can take part in summer workouts, preseason camps, and the full slate of games next year.
Moser highlighted Pack’s basketball IQ, shooting prowess, and high-level leadership as key reasons he was eager to add him in the transfer portal.
The Sooners lost standout freshman Jeremiah Fears to the NBA and needed a proven scorer and floor general, and Pack’s availability bolsters Oklahoma’s backcourt significantly.
Now, with Pack cleared, OU fans can expect immediate impact from a player who averaged 17.4 points and 43.6 percent from beyond the arc at Kansas State, and followed that up with a solid 13.9 points per game in nine outings at Miami.
With expectations rising, Oklahoma enters the 2025–26 season with optimism. A full summer with Pack in uniform allows Moser to integrate his veteran experience into team culture, giving the Sooners a strong foundation to compete in the SEC.
