The Ohio State Buckeyes are back at home this weekend for their only home game in October when they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday night. After this game, Ohio State will be at Illinois and Wisconsin before a bye week. When the Buckeyes open up the month of November, they’ll do so by hosting the Penn State Nittany Lions in a pivotal home matchup.
Ohio State doesn’t get many home-night conference games with the current Big Ten media deal, so Saturday against Minnesota will be a chance for some recruits to be on campus. The Buckeyes do have a bit of worry brewing down south with two of their own commitments. They won’t be on campus this weekend and will instead be visiting elsewhere.
When Florida State hosts the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night, it is set to be a huge recruiting weekend for the Seminoles. In what will be a night game as well for Florida State, they’ll have Ohio State commitments OT Aaron Thomas and TE Corbyn Fordham visiting for the game. As we get into the thick of flip season, the Buckeyes will have to worry a bit about these two.
Ohio State has 21 commitments in the class of 2026 with the No. 9-ranked class, according to 247 Sports. Florida State has landed a number of predictions across multiple platforms that they will indeed flip Fordham from the Buckeyes. The three-star tight end attends The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, and has been committed to Ohio State since November of 2024. Now, the Buckeyes are in danger of losing their only committed tight end.

Thomas is a three-star tight end from Arizona that the Seminoles are pushing for. Ohio State has in-state four-star Sam Greer as their only other true tackle recruit on the roster. Four-star commitment Maxwell Riley is listed as an offensive tackle by most but the Buckeyes view him as a future guard in Columbus.
Getting to Signing Day is the only time schools feel good about committed recruits, as a verbal doesn’t mean a whole lot with other schools still in their ear. Ohio State will have to work to hold onto these two recruits, while they work to complete some of their own recruitment flips.
