Providence-UConn men's basketball game Saturday postponed due to COVID-19

COVID-19 has forced the Providence men's basketball team to postpone their second straight contest.

The Friars were scheduled to host the Huskies at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, but Providence continues to face COVID issues within the program. The Creighton-Providence game slated for Tuesday was canceled as well.

The Friars are currently 14-2 and ranked No. 23 in the country, sporting a perfect 10-0 record at home, 3-1 mark on the road and 1-1 split in neutral settings. Providence began their season 5-0 before falling to the University of Virginia on Nov. 23.

Ed Cooley's team then won eight in a row before losing to Marquette on Jan. 4. The team bounced back with an 83-73 win over St. John's on Jan. 8.

Providence will try to get back on the court for their next scheduled tilt at 9:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday against Seton Hall.
