Purdue big man Zach Edey hits milestones, joins exclusive list

Purdue big man Zach Edey continued his dominant college career on Sunday by becoming just the sixth player in Big Ten history to ever hit 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.

He hit the milestone during the No. 2 ranked Boilermakers 68-60 win over Rutgers. Edey finished the game with 26 points and 12 total rebounds.

Edey is in his fourth year at Purdue and been one of the most dominant big men in the country and was the national college player of the year during the 2022-23 season.

During Edey's time at Purdue the Boilermakers have been one of the top teams in the country, consistently finding itself in the top-10 and climbing as high as No. 1 in each of the past three seasons.

The problem for Edey and Purdue has been finding success in March.
The Boilermakers lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament in two of the past three seasons, including last year as a No. 1 seed to Fairleigh Dickinson.

The other big question for Edey is related to his NBA potential. When he returned to Purdue for his senior season there was debate as to whether or not he would be a first-round pick. He is however considered a potential lottery pick in the 2024 class.
