The Purdue Boilermakers had yet another respectable run in the NCAA Tournament, led by Naismith Player of the Year finalist Braden Smith.
The junior led Purdue to the Sweet 16, losing to Houston, the national title runner-up.
Before falling to the Cougars, Smith helped the Boilermakers earn wins over McNeese and High Point.
After the Boilermakers were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, they revealed a prestigious honor for Smith. During his third season with the program, he was named a consensus All-American.
Purdue is now the first school with a consensus All-American in four straight years since 2014.

During his third season with the Boilermakers, Smith posted 15.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game, ranking second in the nation in assists.
He's now in a prestigious category in Purdue basketball history, joining Zach Edey and Caleb Swanigan as consensus All-Americans.
Before Purdue revealed the historic news, the Boilermakers also mentioned that Smith had been named the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year.
Purdue is one of three programs with four consensus All-Americans since 2017.
