Reliving Arizona's Historic Season at McKale Center

One thing that has been with the Wildcats all season is the McKale Center. The team had an absolutely dominant season at its home arena. The Wildcats went 16-1 at the McKale Center this season. The one loss came against Texas Tech in overtime. Wildcats freshman phenom Koa Peat left the game with an injury, which helped the Red Raiders become the only team to knock off the Wildcats at home this season.

Head coach Tommy Lloyd and his players said goodbye to McKale for the final time this season. The team hosted one last practice in its home arena before heading to Indianapolis, where it will look to defeat the Wolverines in the Final Four.

With the Wildcats winning 16 home games this season, fans have seen some special performances from the team.

101 Points Vs. Kansas State - Jan. 7

The team scored more than 100 points in the NCAA Tournament, but it also did it at the McKale Center. The Wildcats defeated Kansas State 101-76 on Jan. 7, and two Wildcats had breakout performances that night. Motiejus Krivas had his season high in points with 25. He was 7 of 10 from the field and also grabbed 12 rebounds.

Brayden Burries also had his best performance up to that point, as he scored 28 points and only missed four shots. The Wildcats dominated Kansas State and put on a show for the fans.

AJ Dybantsa Classic - Feb. 18

BYU came to Tucson on Feb. 18, and AJ Dybantsa put on a show, but the Wildcats withstood the storm and defeated the Cougars. Dybantsa had 35 points, but the Wildcats prevailed in a team effort. Jaden Bradley had a 12-point, 10-assist double-double.

Revenge on Kansas- Feb. 28

The Wildcats got their revenge on Kansas after losing at Allen Fieldhouse by four points. Lloyd had his players ready to play, and they beat the Jayhawks by 23 points on Feb. 28. The entire Wildcats starting five scored in double figures, and Burries and Krivas each had a double-double with rebounds.

Iowa State Blowout- March 2

The Wildcats' last home game of the season was a dominant showing. They defeated Iowa State 73-57 on March 2. Tobe Awaka had 15 rebounds off the bench and was a huge factor in the win.

It was truly a special season for the Wildcats at the McKale Center. They are now off to Indianapolis to take on the Wolverines in what should be a Final Four classic.
