The future of Bronny James is reportedly up in the air.
On Tuesday evening, longtime college basketball insider Dick Weiss reported Bronny, the son of NBA all-time great LeBron James, has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal after his first year with USC.
However, later in the evening, he deleted his report and followed it up with a new tweet that he "can't confirm" the story.
can't confirm Bronny James story guys. still think its an idea whose time has come. make sense if it happens. I love the kid, think he could be a star elsewhere.

Although the report was deleted, the rumor still spread like wildfire. After his Lakers' win over the Raptors Tuesday night, LeBron addressed the confusion.

The confusion comes just after longtime USC coach Andy Enfield left to take the same job at SMU.
Bronny James arrived at USC with much fanfare, not only as the son of an NBA icon, but also as one of the top high school players in the country. But his freshman year got off a scary start when he suffered a cardiac arrest during a practice and was limited early in the season.
When he returned to the court, he appeared in 25 games, starting six, and averaged 4.2 points per game.
Getting a fresh start might be best for him. It would also give him an opportunity to help rebuild his draft stock after what amounted to a mostly lost freshman season.
If he does decide to transfer, the only question is where that fresh start will be.
Could he follow Enfield to SMU? Perhaps Ohio State? Or how about a wild sleeper option and Duquesne to play for LeBron's longtime friend and former high school teammate, Dru Joyce?
Wherever it ends up being, there is going to be a big spotlight, and major expectations, following him.
