New Texas Longhorns head coach Sean Miller is putting his roster together for next season and has convinced another one of his former Xavier players to come to Austin.

CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported on Monday that Xavier center Lassina Traore has committed to Texas. The news comes on the heels of him taking an official visit   Austin over the weekend and he joins forward Dailyn Swain as the two Musketeer players to follow their coach to the Forty Acres.

The 6'10" big man from Ivory Coast transferred to Xavier from Long Beach State last year, but suffered a season-ending knee injury prior to the start of the regular season. He was slated to be a major player for the Musketeers upon his return, but will now leave the Big East program having not logged a single minute of action.

Traore began his collegiate career at Saint Louis before transferring to Long Beach State in 2022. He dominated the boards through two seasons with the Beach, leading the Big West in rebounding during both years while averaging a double-double in the process.

Now heading to his fourth school, he joins a transfer portal class that includes former Purdue forward Camden Heide, former FAU center Matas Vokietaitis, and the aforementioned Swain. Given his size and presence on the glass, it's no surprise that Miller wanted to bring him to Austin to counteract other big men in the SEC.
