The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels basketball team continues to build their roster through the transfer portal this past week.

Former Louisiana Tech guard Al Green is the latest addition to the squad under new head coach Josh Pastner.

Pastner officially made the announcement of Green’s arrival on Sunday. Pastner also detailed what his addition meant to the team.

“Al is a tremendous addition to our program, bringing not only skill but also a strong competitive spirit,” Pastner said. “His scoring ability and experience at the collegiate level will be crucial for us. Al’s leadership on and off the court aligns perfectly with the culture we are building here at UNLV. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Runnin’ Rebel family and look forward to seeing his impact on our program.”

Green stands at 6’3 from Sacramento, California. He played at Franklin High School in Elk Grove, California. He also played two seasons at San Diego City College.

His play at San Diego City College led him to being ranked as a top 25 of Juco player. He then was recruited and committed to Louisiana Tech. In the 30 games he appeared in, he averaged 10.2 points per game.

Green could give the Runnin’ Rebels a huge offensive advantage on the court next season.
