For the first time since 1989, the Michigan Wolverines are the champions of the NCAA Tournament.
Led by 19 points from Most Outstanding Player Elliot Cadeau and a gritty 13 from a hobbled Big 10 Player of the Year in Yaxel Lendeborg, head coach Dusty May and Co. defeated Connecticut 69-63 in Indianapolis.
The Wolverines earned a No. 1-seed in the tournament after going 29-2 in the regular season, with their only losses coming to Wisconsin and Duke before falling to Purdue in the Big 10 championship game. They then smashed their way to the championship, which was their only contest in the Tournament decided by single-digits.
