The NCAA Tournament got off to a bang with the First Four in Dayton, Ohio on Tuesday. In the first game, the Howard Bison survived a comeback attempt from the UMBC Retrievers, who just missed a half-court heave at the buzzer that would have sent the game to overtime. Howard’s first-ever March Madness win in program history is rewarded with a clash against No.1-seed Michigan in the Midwest region.
In the nightcap, The No.11 Texas Longhorns played their First Four game against the NC State Wolfpack much like they did their regular season. They started strong, fell apart at the end but eventually did just enough to keep their season alive thanks to a last-second jumper from senior Tramon Mark. The Longhorns will head to Portland to take on No.6-seed BYU.
The action continues tonight with No.16-seeds Prairie View A&M vs. Lehigh before No. 11-seeds SMU takes and the 32-1 Miami (OH) RedHawks clash.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the teams to play in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament since it expanded to 68 teams in 2011 can you name in 10 minutes?
Good luck!
