Three NBA Teams Clinch Best Shot At Drafting Cooper Flagg

We're still months away from the 2025 NBA Draft, and yet, the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes are already heating up.

Flagg was as good as advertised for Duke this past season, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. The Blue Devils came up short in the Final Four, but there's no question the 6-foot-9 forward has what it takes to be a game-changer in the pros.

On May 12, the draft lottery for the first 14 picks will be revealed in Chicago. There'll be plenty of fans hoping and praying their favorite team lands the top pick.

With that said, there are three teams that have the best chance at landing Flagg. Those teams are the Charlotte Hornets, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards.

All three teams have a 14% chance of landing the No. 1 pick. It's no secret that selection will be used on Flagg as long as he declares for the draft.

Flagg, who won the Wooden Award this season, has received plenty of hype from former NBA players. In fact, Jay Williams referred to him as the "most complete freshman" in the history of Duke's program.

"I think he's the most complete freshman Duke has had in basketball history, I do. I think he's - by far - the best college basketball player in the game today," Jay Williams said. "He does it on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he's everywhere. Offensively, he's a playmaker. There's a reason why I continue to call him 'Cooper the American Flagg.' This dude, you see posters of his face on an American flag because of how he plays. He's a complete all-around spectacular player."

Only time will tell if Flagg lives up to the hype in the NBA next season. That is, of course, if he declares for the draft.

Flagg has to declare for the NBA Draft by April 26.
